Exploring Purbeck

20-21st October 2018

Settling into life in Dorset, I enjoyed a weekend of walking and cycling around the Isle of Purbeck. A coastal walk from Sandbanks (chain ferry) to Swanage on Saturday, taking the bus back in the evening. I half-ran some of the sections, experimenting with the idea of taking up trail running. A short swim in Swanage. Refreshing, as always.

Then on Sunday, a cycle from Sandbanks to the Square and Compass Pub in Worth Matravers. A very popular pub. Great to finally pay it a visit and have a cider. C has told me so much about it. I read the latest National Geographic on a bench, enjoying an article by Anne Lamott on living with hope, in the face of adversity. I enjoy her writing and humour.

C rings to tell me she’s passed her mountain leader assessment. I’m very proud of her.
